Good video! I used this design to build my GMRS 1/4 wave ground plane Antenna. I found the 1/4 wave to be the Best and Cheapest antenna to build for a DIY project.

I've got to say, I own one of these antennas and I'm very happy with the set-up in my automobile. The Midland 6 dB Gain Antenna with Durable Spring Base and NMO Connection works and looks good.
This Midland Antenna Mag Mount with NMO Connector and 12 Foot Cable works nicely with the Midland 6 dB Gain Antenna and will increase your handheld radio rang when connected using a SMA Female to UHF SO-239 Female Connector.
